Week 11 College Football Preview
This Week Picks: Oklahoma State (+13), Utah (-1.5), Alabama (-2.5), Cal (+18.5), Penn St (-8) and Kansas (-1.5)
Last week: 1-4 Season: 14-13
Wow! That was one hell of a game between Texas and Texas Tech. It did not disappoint at all with Tech winning on a last second TD grab tight rope walking down the sideline. Now who knows where we stand moving forward towards the national championship game? One thing we know for sure is that if Penn State and Alabama win out they most likely will meet in the big game, but if college football has taught us anything in the past is that seems very unlikely. This week is no different from the past couple where the Big 12 has another monster game on its schedule this time UT or OU will not be taking part in it. This time around it is Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma State, Tech is coming off it biggest win in school history and OSU I think is still underrated. I think Texas Tech will still have a hangover from last weeks emotional win and the Cowboys will come away with this victory easily.
The mountain west has a very important game this Thursday when TCU and Utah face off against each other. Utah is still undefeated and ranked 8th in the country and with a win here sets up very nicely for a BCS bid.
On Saturday the number one ranked team in the nation will be facing off against its coaches old team, yet he doesn’t want to talk about that. The Crimson Tide will be traveling to LSU as a 2.5 point favorite and I really can’t see why its not more. The only team it seems like right now that is playing well in the SEC is Florida. LSU is vastly over rated and will not put up much of a fight with Alabama’s defense overpowering and mediocre Tiger offense.
Pac-10 finally has a meaningful game; I guess that would mean USC is involved. The Trojans will be an 18.5 point favorite as the Golden Bears invade the Coliseum. Cal seems to have been over looked all season and has a great defense and running backs. That sounds like a recipe for a close game maybe even an upset. I will take the golden bears and the 18.5 points.
Penn State from here on out has a big game every weekend because it looks like the other conference will be each other up and if Penn State ends up undefeated they will be in the national championship game. This week people around the country are claiming they have a trap game, I don’t buy it Iowa is not good and will be no match for a really good Penn State team who will cover easily.
