Playoff Time, Boston Again?

This has been one hell of a year for the Angels. Most likely the angels will break the all time record for wins in a single season and get 100+ wins. I have to admit I have not watched as much as I have done the stretch of other season when we were fighting to get into the playoffs. But as I watched the game last night and saw that the Rays came back to beat the O's we will be facing the Red Sox in the first round of the playoffs yet again. As every Angel fan wonders in the back of their mind is this team going to have the same fate as the other past editions of the angels with a series flop versus the dreaded Sox. One can be thankful at least that the Angels have clinched so early in the season that Soscia has been able to rest Vlad and his old man knees for the last week. It seems for the last couple of playoffs that he is just worn down by the time they start. Hopefully that is not the case this year. Plus Howie has a couple of more days to work himself back into play shape.GA is actually swinging a hot stick lately and Tex is the man and should be retained at all cost i.e. the game winning HR last night in the 8th. The rotation seems set up to be pretty dominanant if we don’t have to throw Weaver or Garland out there.But the main difference I see between this year and year past is with the BoSox. Mainly because Manny is now also playing in "Los Angeles" and not killing us. When that trade went through I felt like three teams benefited the most Dodgers, Angels and Yankees. Let’s hope we can take advantage of a Mannyless lineup. Also as you might have noticed Big Pappi is not the same with the click in his wrist, he is just not swing as well as he usually does. I have never been confident going into Boston and winning a playoff game and I can't believe that we are reward for having the greatest season in franchise history with an opening round playoff series against the red sox. But maybe this year is the year they overcome their demands and slay the might Red Sox. At least this year Vlad looks good and GA has both eyes open plus we added the mighty Tex.
